In order to retail your craft product in Manitoba, either through a liquor retailer or an on-premises location (such as bars and restaurants), the product must first be listed with Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries.
Reviews are held on a regular basis to consider new products for listing.
Mark-ups are calculated on a percentage basis of the landed cost of a particular alcohol product with the percentage calculated depending on the product category. These markups are collected by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries on the sale of all beverage alcohol products and are part of Liquor & Lotteries’ revenue that goes back to the province for the funding of government priority programs.
In Manitoba, there are minimum pricing policies in effect for both single serve beer products of less than one litre as well as on all packaged beer.
Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries has markup reliefs for micro-brewers, micro-distillers and cottage wineries based on world-wide production levels. For further information on micro manufacturing pricing structure, contact Manager, Supply Chain Administration at (204) 957-2500, ext. 2840.
